XUXU Donuts

Classic donuts, finished in pink. A must have for the coffee table.

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients for about 30 pieces

  • XUXU
  • 250 g Flour
  • 10 g fresh yeast
  • 1 Tb + 95 g Sugar
  • 12,5 cl Milk
  • 1 Organic lemon
  • 50 g Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 cl Oil for baking
  • 100 g Icing Sugar
  • pink sugar sprinkles/sugar beads
  • Brush
  • Donut cutter

PREPARATION

Place 250 g flour in a bowl and press a well into it. Crumble 10 g of yeast into it. Add 1 tablespoon sugar.

Heat 125 ml milk, pour 1/3 of it to the yeast in the hollow. Stir with a little flour from the edge to form a pre-dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.

Wash the lemon, finely grate the peel. Dice 50 g butter. Add 1 egg, the butter, the remaining milk, 45 g sugar and the grated lemon zest to the dough. Knead the dough for the donuts well with the dough hook of the mixer for 4 minutes and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Transfer the dough to a well-floured work surface. Knead again briefly and roll out to about 1 cm thick.

Cut out donuts with a donut cutter (approx. 5 cm ├ś) and place on a floured baking sheet. Cover the donuts and let them rise for 5-10 minutes.

Carefully place the donuts in batches in a pan with hot (150 degrees) oil and fry, turning, until golden brown, 1 - 2 minutes.

Lift out with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels and let cool.

Mix XUXU, powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to a smooth, thick glaze. Decorate donuts with frosting and sugar sprinkles. Let decorated donuts dry and serve.
